Absolutely, if only one group provides data to this resource, it will quickly become irrelevant. Our philosophy is, the more markers, the merrier. Providers of all markers will be acknowledged, but all information required to reproduce the marker must be made freely available, no strings attached. Additionally, to make this a robust resource, we would require that sequences on which markers are based have been submitted to a recognised sequence repository, and that a useable amount of validation data is given. Usually, this involves a combination of map data and scoring of the marker across a panel of diverse lines of the authors choice.
We are delighted to be notified of resources you think need to be included in our website. Please drop a line to tom.wood@niab.com giving the URL and a one line synopsis of what the site content is and why it is relevant to the viciatoolbox community.
